Garnet S. Heraman, 41, is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor of more than a decade. Mr. Heraman is a partner at Aegis Investment Partners LLC, an investment group that makes equity and equity-linked investments in middle market companies. Mr. Heraman is responsible for the group’s transaction origination, market positioning and future investment offerings. He plays a central role in identifying financial and strategic partners that enable follow-on investments and exit strategies for portfolio companies. Mr.Heraman helped develop Aegis’ proprietary risk management system (CVOS), which quantifies the strategic fit between buyers and sellers.

Mr. Heraman is co-founder and former CEO of Venture Vortex, Inc., an Aegis subsidiary that sells knowledge management software and services to M+A and investment divisions of large corporations. He led Venture Vortex in its acquisition of the intellectual property assets of Knowledge Webb, a corporate innovation solutions provider for the Fortune 500, before merging the company with Aegis. Mr. Heraman is also co-founder and former CEO of UVentures, Inc., an online technology transfer exchange. Prior to UVentures, Mr. Heraman was on the innovation team at Warner Bros. Pay-TV & Cable that commercialized the cable industry’s first broadband offering in 1996, RoadRunner (http://www.roadrunner.com). At the outset of his career, Mr. Heraman was involved with the launch of Rhizome.org, a pioneering e-zine about art and culture that is now part of the New Museum in New York City.

Mr. Heraman has been profiled in numerous publications including Institutional Investor, Business Week Online, Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur, Red Herring and Crain’s New York Business.

Mr. Heraman is actively involved with several public policy, education and arts nonprofit organizations, including The CORO Foundation, The Columbia Alumni Association and The Art Students League of Denver.
