Born in Tehran, Farhad Bahram began his photography practice as an undergraduate in 2002 at the Azad University of Tehran. Working as a photojournalist in two newspapers and one magazine was a unique experience and strengthened his belief in cultural activities on grassroots as basis for social practices. In 2009, he established the global art group GMOA (Global Mission of Art) with the help of sixteen artists from around the world. He has been part of more than 15 exhibitions and conferences in Tehran, San Francisco, Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney and Santa Cruz. He has been awarded student scholarship by The Society for Photographic Education (SPE) in 2011 and also received Graduate Teaching Fellowship Award from University of Oregon in 2012. Bahram started his MFA in photography at San Francisco Art Institute in 2011 and he is currently educating at the University of Oregon.
