Deadline:
Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:00

Location:
Baltimore, Maryland
United States of America

Infinity’s Kitchen is an experimental literary journal, published online and in print. It is designed to explore a place for literature in a post-digital setting. We seek work that results from new recipes, or from existing recipes that have been compellingly redefined.

The works that interest us are multimedia and multidisciplinary, but here are some general categories for submission. Use the link below to submit online.

Multimedia, Interactive, Time-Based or Performance
On our website, we seek to publish works that cannot be published in print. This includes experimental music, net art, video art, and nonlinear literature, fluxus scores, experimental music and performance art. We're most interested in publishing original work, but we're also willing to blog about previously published work.

Essay, Criticism and Commentary
We're interested in informed commentary, especially if it pertains to innovative creative process. Feel free to submit either a proposal, extract, or an entire work of criticism, discussion, manifesto, commentary, column or review.

Poetry and Verse
We're interested in new forms, performative work, spoken word, visual poetry, sound poetry, flarf, constraint writing, text generation experiments or any other literary form experiment.

Fiction and Narrative
We're interested in fiction and other forms of narrative that are difficult to classify, but here are some classifications for example: constraint writing, text generation experiments, conceptual writing, narrative that employs appropriated text, etc. We are not interested in genre fiction, unless it exemplifies a radical departure from the genre.

Infinity's Kitchen magazine will host a release party in Brooklyn, New York at The Old American Can Factory. The party will celebrate the magazine's sixth issue of experimental literature, on the evening of June 13, 2013.

Founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 2008, Infinity's Kitchen is a graphic literary journal of experimental literature and conceptual writing. The sixth and latest issue contains poetry, short fiction, essays on literary process and visual poems from 13 international contributors in print and 26 international contributors online.

Contributors to the new issue will read and/or discuss their work during the event. These contributors include: Billy Cancel, whose poems are collages of found phrases and ideas; Greg Gathman, an experimental filmmaker whose video combines cellphone footage and music to accompany interlaced lines from different poems; Gary Heidt, author of an essay exploring the idea of the Word Square; Erica ESH Henry, who combines the use of musical notational symbols with written poetry; Katie Morales, a dancer and choreographer whose essay offers “erratic thoughts on an art form nobody cares about unless Natalie Portman is making out with a girl.” and members of the theater group Van Reipen Collective will read poetry written for multiple simultaneous voices by Scottish poet Ashby McGowan.

Graphic Literary Journal Seeks Submissions of Experimental Writing

Deadline:
Sun Jun 30, 2013 20:55

Location:
Baltimore, Maryland
United States of America

Are you a writer, or an artist whose work experiments with its own recipe? Are you interested in combining art and literature? Are you aesthetically inclined toward the experimental, the conceptual or the avant-garde? If so, we’re seeking your contribution.

Infinity’s Kitchen is a graphic literary journal of experimental writing and art. The publication is online and in print. This is the kind of place where anything can happen. It is a creative place, as all kitchens are, but it is also a laboratory.

You could think of a work of literature or art as the product of a recipe. We’re interested in trying new recipes, and sharing them with others who might want to cook up something similar.

The works that interest us are multimedia and multidisciplinary, but there are some general submission categories to choose from.
