Débora Carnevali Ramírez (Born: Caracas, Venezuela, 1985- Lives in: Merida, Mexico)
Performance Artist and Curator. BA in Visual Arts from the Superior School of Arts of Yucatan. As an artist she has participated in over 30 group shows in Mexico, Spain and China. Solo shows in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Canada. She has participated in the XII International Performance Festival of X-Teresa (2006) and at the Third National Visual Arts Biennial of Yucatan (2006), EJECT: First Festival of Video-Performance of Mexico City (2006), Third National Biennial of University Visual Art (2007), the 10th International OPEN ART Performance Festival in Beijing (2009) and CONTRASEÑAS 9: Video a la Mexicana curated by Monica Mayer in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain (2010). Honorable Mention at the State Youth Awards (2007) in the category of artistic achievement and selected in the mART 2009 catalog. As a Curator she has co-directed, with Omar Góngora, two independent live-art and new-media galleries: Laboratorio Dzityá (2006-2007) and La Periferia (www.galerialaperiferia.com) (2007-to date) and also cofounder of the CDLD Contemporary Art Documentation Center (online beta version: cdld.org / CDLD Editions: edicionescdld.weebly.com). FOECAY fellows in 2006 and 2010 in the Visual Arts Category.
