“Trigonometric building” OUT NOW!

Wed Jun 20, 2012 13:40 - Sun Jul 29, 2012

Dear friends,

I'm happy to share with you the “Trigonometric building”, an interactive video-mapping screening on a site-specific building (Demo on The New Museum NY).

"Trigonometric building" is a demo-proposal for an interactive architectural mapping projection designed specifically for the facade of the New Museum in New York, but it’s obviously also adaptable to other architectural facades, if further manipulated. In the interactive version, the audience via a PC-workstation placed in front
of the projection, can manipulate in real time the geometry of different parallelepipeds that compose the building, (using a 3-D software simulates a smooth-pencil-trace, that draws lines on white
cardboard) transforming them into triangles starting from their corners and/or faces. The result of the manipulations is a total deconstruction of the architectural structure that can appear occasionally minimal; therefore, closer to the primordial geometric shape, or complex, multiform and multifaceted, and in continuous
transformation from an always changing point of view, so that by looking at it, the observer can make a sort of virtual tour of 360° in space and time.

The “Hemispheric is watching you” out now!

Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:40 - Fri Jul 27, 2012

Dear friends,

I'm glad to share with you the “Hemispheric is watching you”, an interactive architectural video-mapping on a site-specific building (Demo on ‘El Emisferico’, Valencia), 2012.

"Hemispheric is watching you" is a demo-proposal for an interactive video-mapping projection that highlights the concept of surveillance,
designed specifically for the facade of ‘El Emisferico’ in Valencia, but it’s also adaptable to other architectural facades. The audience’s
actions and movements made freely standing in front of the façade’s projection are captured by a camera-tracking system that translates
the movements on coordinates of the x, y and z Cartesian axis. So, the robotic eye screened on El Emisferico, reacts to the spectator’s
activities throughout 360° space. In fact, the eye moves itself and changes also the iris color, following the same audience body’s acts,
so the spectator from observer becomes observed and controlled by the robotic eye, in continuous transformation from an always-changing
point of view.

Talking in string

Mon May 28, 2012 17:45 - Tue Jul 24, 2012

Dear friends,

I'm glad to share with you my generative video installation "Talking in string", time variable.

Best regards, Chiara

"Talking in string" is a generative video installation inspired by the 'Rotor', famous Luna Park rotating carousel. "Talking in string"
develops into a cylindrical space around the audience that create the installation itself in real time by sending text messages via Twitter.
Also the not present public on site can participate as well by sending messages by their remote Internet locations. The sentences run a
recording system are displayed immediately – The texts speedily rotate around the space, changing direction, color, font, and some of them
ramble in absence of gravity - The generated phrases, dissolving and wrapping themselves around disoriented people who are watching as texts become 'strings', no longer readable. These ‘strings’ slowly disappear as light’s bundles surrounding the body of the spectators like colored trails left by comets or as if we were inside of Newton’s disk.
