About the WAG

Due to our needs that seem to be increasingly handheld, WAG was born on 2009! The Widget Art Gallery is a mini single art gallery room fitting into people's pocket. Every month, the WAG hosts a solo digital art exhibition related to its dynamic site-specific context. So the WAG works both as a sort of kunsthall showing temporary exhibitions and also as museum conserving all the past shows inside an online archive that creates a permanent collection.

About the show

"Flashcrash Unlimited" by Fabio Lattanzi Antinori.

The artwork is the condensed representation of the last few minutes of the US stock exchange prior to the infamous flashcrash of May 6 2010. The looped animation stands as an ironic reminder of the thousands yet smaller flash crashes that have made their appearance on the financial market; its rough two-dimensional aesthetic, in stark contrast with the pristine realistic background of the WAG white cube where it is displayed, is reminiscent of the flat world of Big Data and algorithmic trading.
Fabio Lattanzi Antinori is an italian artist based and working in London. His work mixing a range of mediums, as: sculpture, print and interactive installations, examines the language of power and control of corporate systems and its effect on the belief systems of the individual. http://lattanziantinori.com/

Out now from Live Architectures: “Predicting in augmented space”

Dates:
Wed Jan 07, 2015 10:05 - Mon Feb 29, 2016

Live Architectures is a series of digital and interactive artworks created over time in a wide-range production developed to reshape the indoor and the outdoor architecture and environmental places as well as the ‘digital environment’, transforming it into something alive and vibrant. This series of site-specific artworks is created and usable exclusively on Google Earth. Through the augmented reality technology, the artwork aims to create an extemporary-temporary virtual land-art, constructing a sort of "mise en abyme" or “droste effect”, in which an element shifts the other in depth, merging the Google earth environment with the augmented area in order to create a new space.

“Predicting in augmented space” http://www.chiarapassa.it/Predictinginaugmentedspace.html invites the viewer to use the Augmented Reality technology on Google Earth browser to discover an oddity atmosphere inhabited by some drones trapped into rotating snowglobes crossing the sky area of Google Earth – in the meantime the sun transforming itself by changing face through the emoticons gestures reflecting and communicating the beliefs of some pseudo-indigenous peoples on earth. So, why to map these beliefs using traditional instruments as i.e. the model of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey? “Predicting in augmented space” is an expanded visualization of an imaginary map reflecting conventionalisms!
