BIO
I am a commercial and documentary photographer based in New York City.

I was born Canadian but lost the accent somewhere between Parson's School of Design (New York) and working as a graphic designer in San Francisco. Now Canadians make fun of my American accent instead of the other way around.

My love affair with photography began early when I borrowed my brother's Nikon EM for a school project and then refused to give it back. Later, when that passion started to eclipse my design work, I left San Francisco for a year at the Maine Photo Workshops in Rockport. Connections made there led me back to New York to assist many great shooters and launch my own career.

I'm a fan of the George Eliot quote, “What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?” To that end, I try to balance the commercial work with documentary work. Beyond the power of documentary to inform and occasionally even help, sharing our stories is really at the heart of what makes life great.
