Fleeting Image is Live

Ever wanted to know of a site that simply showed unadorned interesting pictures one after the next? A site that always displayed a new set of random images for you to ponder and consider? A site where you could add your own images for others to ponder and consider? A site free of advertising, branding, no-right-clicks, and dire copyright statements?

That site is www.fleetingimage.org

Take it for a spin as often as you need. Add you art, add your photos. Comments on others'. Feedback, suggestions and other critique highly encouraged.

The experience truly is the destination.

NEW GALLERIES LIVE

Mindful In The Storm is proud to announce the release of episode thre=
e (I.iii) of our online gallery and oasis, and the chance to offer you even=
more profound opportunities to wash your eyes and relax to your mind.

New exhibits include a stunning Java applet composed by Supersnail; a=
series of poignant statements by an anonymous techie in South Africa; and =
an eloquent Flash presentation of the Buddhist Wheel of Life produced by ww=
w.buddhanet.net. Mindful In The Storm's introductory sequence has been redo=
ne and the site's format has evolved and matured.

The galleries will be live for the next quarter, so do not feel rushe=
d. In fact, rushing is highly frowned upon -- the site is rather meaningles=
s if you're in a hurry. When you find some quiet time (or need some time) t=
hat's when you should go and explore. The site is configured so you can vis=
it and return as needed and still find new experiences each time.

Thank you's: First off, a calm ST(mindful)ORM shout to Matt Klein and=
Kwejibo for getting it and supporting it. And another to Matt Ipcar for pr=
oviding the great new logos and site navigation images that you see around =
the site. Thanks to the QA team. Thanks to all of you who bulk up my user l=
ogs and send great emails. Special thanks to Molly Ditmore for editing and =
being.

If you find meaning in ST(mindful)ORM and want to support it, the bes=
t thing you can do is pass the word. This mailing list is much smaller than=
you'd think. A link from your site to ours is also helpful. This is a work=
in progress, and if you would like to donate your time, services or ideas,=
don't be shy.

Big plans are already in the works for the next release (I.iv), which=
will offer an audio area with hours of music from an MP3-only double album=
and sets by some of my favorite turntablists.

As always, be mindful and relax to your mind!

Mindful In The Storm - NAN Submission

mindfulinthestorm.org: A chance to wash your eyes.

ST(mindful)ORM is a quarterly web gallery the presents web-based projects t=
hat seeks to remind those of us unable to unteather ourselves from urban-gr=
ind and the hyper-modern world. In keeping with the content, the entire nav=
igation utilizes usual DHTML techniques that encourages the viewer to explo=
re and discover. The goal is to provide an online oasis to relax the mind a=
nd encourage creativity and optimism.

ST(mindful)ORM is intended to be a chance not only to take a break from all=
that is crowding around you, but all that is crowding your head. We'll giv=
e you a chance not only to be aware of your moment here in the present, but=
a chance to be aware that in this moment you are aware. We'll try and pull=
your consciousness to the present and encourage you to keep it there. Prob=
lems and bills and fears will always be there, but the presence of mind to =
notice yourself and the world around you may not. And one day the opportuni=
ty will be gone forever.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[As a direct note to rhizome.org, I think your effort, execution and offeri=
ng are extremely mindful and a great benefit to entire net community, now m=
ore than ever. I modestly submit my team's site for your New Art News list.=
Thank you!]
