flux
informationnel puissent devenir des acteurs critiques?

" Between Philadelphia and Paris
Between code and sensitivity"

Computing is translation. Binary codes translate to media, 1 and 0
translate to images, sounds and texts. Even though this translation
takes
place behind the scenes, it is not without consequence to the
aesthetical
construction of our digital world. Computing is translation, shifting
from
an artificial system (the machine code) to a sensitive one.
Surprisingly,
it is a rather simplistic, logical, mathematical translation that
produces
events and occurrences in our perceptive system.

The work gathered in this exhibition shows evidence of double
statements.
On one hand, widespread computation, and in affect widespread
translation
and a certain form of control. On the other hand, the translation does
not
exist without mistakes, incidents, accidents, bugs and artificiality.
Our
aim is thus, to unveil translation errors, to bring out their
sensitivity
and to share them with the passive audience in order to turn them into
critical actors.

du temps, en donner. Induire des differences et des dissonances, des
interferences. Aucune information a trouver, suspension de
l'instrumentalite: une derive perceptive. S'approprier la programmation
informatique comme Logos plutot que comme Ratio. Interroger
l'articulation

INCIDENT
http://incident.net

New version of INCIDENT.NET & STILL LIFE SELECTION will be presented at
the SCAM in Paris.

Suspend the stream of the network. One moment. Produce perceptions,
waste
time, give it. Infer differences and dissonances, interferences. No
information to be found, suspension of the instrumentality: a perceptive
drift. Leave of the medium and look for the language, write. Appropriate
computer programming as Logos rather than as Ratio. Interrogate
articulation between the affectivity and the machine, our prosthesis.
Articulate plastic, narrative, structural, informative, social
parameters.
Work alone or with the others on a given theme. Introduce the other into
the process of production as part of the network and the anonymity.
Incident in the sense of incidence, the tiny resists in the cybernetic
megapole.
