CHANNELS – THE AUSTRALIAN VIDEO ART FESTIVAL is a new biennial video art festival happening in Melbourne, Australia in September 2013. Channels will showcase Australian and international video art across its many mutant forms, including commissioned installation works by Ms&Mr (SYD) and Benjamin Ducroz (MELB), live AV performances, panel discussions and workshops. A key focus of the program will be the one-night screening of outstanding and experimental single-channel video art at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

Channels festival has collected single-channel video art works by international artists across the globe, to be played in a curated screening at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. The Festival takes place over the weekend of 18th – 21st September 2013 (with an exhibition at Screen Space running 12th – 21st September) at venues including ACMI, Screen Space and Speakeasy Cinema.

$6000 to get us over the line. This is an international festival with an Australian focus, and we want to bring some of our finest video art brains from all over the country, to you. Nothing fancy, just modest artist fees and a contribution towards lodging and travel.
