The Campos de Gutiérrez Foundation is inviting artists, designers, art historians, and curators to apply to its residency program housed in a 19th century coffee plantation in the foothills of Medellin. The residence is located within a natural reserve 25 minutes away from the city’s downtown area.

The full ten-week program provides residents with the following: Private lodging with unlimited studio access; A studio visit from one guest critic in addition to optional weekly critiques; Weekly guided trips to sites of interest in Medellin; Access to the Campos de Gutiérrez Library and Archive; An exhibition or artist talk.

The foundation will select six to eight applicants to participate in this session. The foundation offers up to a 55 % need-based subsidy of the program fee, which is estimated at USD $700 a month (4 weeks). Costs are lower for bilingual residents who are fluent in English and Spanish and groups. The fee does not cover board, transportation, or materials except for ceramic clay.

Proposals should be made to begin after April 14th and end before the 1st of July 2013. The minimum amount of time for a residency period is six weeks. Campos de Gutiérrez anuncia su convocatoria para la primera sesión de 2013 (enero 15 - marzo 30). La fundación proveerá hasta un 60% de subsidio.

Campos de Gutiérrez invita a artistas, diseñadores, historiadores de arte y curadores a aplicar a su programa de residencias situado en una casa cafetera del siglo XIX en la base de las montañas que rodean a Medellín. La residencia se localiza a veinticinco minutos del centro de la ciudad en una reserva natural.

El programa completo de diez semanas incluye: Alojamiento privado con acceso ilimitado a los talleres; La visita de un critico invitado además de las criticas opcionales que se hacen semanalmente; Visitas guiadas semanales a sitios estratégicos de la ciudad de Medellín; Acceso a la biblioteca y archivo de Campos de Gutiérrez; Una exposición o un conversatorio.

La fundación seleccionara de seis a ocho candidatos para participar en esta sesión. La fundación tiene la capacidad de financiar hasta un 60% del programa, estimado en USD $750. Los costos se reducen mas para residentes bilingües que dominen el Inglés y el Español y para grupos. Estos costos no cubren alimentación, transporte, o materiales excepto por arcilla de alfarería.

Los proyectos deben ser diseñados para empezar después del 14 de enero y terminar antes del 31 de marzo de 2013. MAATI at Campos de Gutiérrez - Kickstarter

Campos de Gutiérrez is fundraising a current project via Kickstarter.com. MAATI, meaning clay in Sanskrit, is collaborative effort that crosses geographical boundaries & interdisciplinary approaches to develop a regional ceramic culture.

Any contribution, regardless of how small, can make great difference. Please support us by way of donation or by spreading the word. Contributors who donate $50 or more will receive original works made in the residency. This project will only be funded if at least $11,000 is pledged by Saturday Sep 22, 12:50pm EDT.
