Tal Erez focuses his work on the understanding of design. Design cannot remain confined within the white cube. Social, Economic and political issues touch design and it touches them just the same. The projects shown here, wether resulting in commercial products or pieces on the boundaries of art, all stem from extensive research and questioning, and are usually tightly linked with written text. This research examines design and the product in the relevant context, and the effects of the political and social on it.
Tal Erez is trained as an industrial designer from the Holon Institute of Technology, Holon, Israel, and is a graduate Cum Laude (with honors) of the IM masters program (focusing on contextual design) of the Design Academy Eindhoven, Eindhoven, The netherlands. With a background also in art and graphic design, his works lie on the spectrum of the arts, 2D and 3D design.
