In bureaucratic form, the entity of marta has to identify as an artist, teacher and researcher. The body that belongs to marta exists in a land named Australia and is distributed amongst a finite boundary of locations: in fidgety stillness in front of a computer screen in a location named the Gold Coast; in static motion as a lecturer-being in the faculty of education, within a label of Griffith University (Brisbane). As a reward for existing, the marta body can experience the beach, its favourite houses of coffee, and can ingest fermented grape juice. As an artist entity: it has found itself repeating the same patterns since its juvenile form. Creating collections of items - in small form - with subsequent obsessive replication. It cannot shake the compulsion of creating fantasy creatures and then creating worlds for them. In sfodamong form (an alien being who can connect with other lifeforms from multiple dimensions) it has had visitation from the sfod, the androny, and the intercepting forms of mulacra. The creatures need to be shared with the ‘other’ (child or adult) in the form either co-collaboration, co-construction of worlds or as pre-inventive structure. The marta appendages find themselves handling small discarded craft items with scissors and glue. At other times they seem to explore and manipulate synthetic coloured clay and form random shapes and textures by following the stream down/up un/consciousness. A translation from physical to the digital always needs to take place. Where sounds, video, interactive animation objects are processed in the same fashion as bits of random papers, beads or clay. Digital and physical items and objects are found and discovered, manipulated, moulded, cut, pasted, sequenced, layered, smoothed, rendered, transformed, extended and reconstructed. Science fiction, fantasy, philosophy and psychology emerge to connect with the objects constructed. Absorbed in abstraction, collection, sequential manipulation, following in expectation and excitation to discover what may emerge, as if from an/other. A final translation into text to render the experience of creation, either in the act, or as an afterthought. On another layer of the kinesphere, marta waits for the moment when things make more sense…but maybe…not really….As the teacher entity: the body of marta finds itself in spaces filled with individuals who have found themselves in a position of wanting (either incidentally or consciously) to receive a qualification as teachers. In this space, these individuals are somehow drawn to the areas labelled Visual Arts, Media Arts, New Media, Film…and some more of the same sort… As the researcher entity: The constructs of doctor marta kawka finds some apparent connection with some other things which have been recorded in various places; a/r/tography (Irwin, Springgay), practice-led research (Sullivan), arts-based research (Eisner, Barone), phenomenology (Van Manen)……there are things waiting to emerge right here…
