Mechthild Schmidt, an artist and motion designer, has worked for major Post Houses and networks for over a decade before joining NYU's faculty in their BS degree in Digital Communications and Media. She has exhibited and spoken widely on her interest in media convergence and a digital aesthetic (Bauhaus Dessau, KHM Cologne, Siggraph, BDA, and MIT/CAVS)
A principal of HouseWorks digital media, Mechthild has won artistic and commercial awards, including the Design of the German Filmprize Statue, an International Monitor Award, a DAAD Grant, and a Fellowship for the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program, NYC.
