MARCUS JANSEN

b.1968, Manhattan, New York.

Discovered by former Museum director Jerome A. Donson, (Director of the American Vanguard Exhibitions Europe 1961), in charge of traveling exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Jansen's Museum collections include The Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), Russia, The PERMM Museum of Contemporary Art, Russia, The New Britain Museum of American Art, CT, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, MO,The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, Taiwan and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Jansen is also one of the ABSOLUT VODKA artist's of this century along side names like Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.

Jansen a former soldier, has participated in various International Museum exhibitions and Biennials, including the 12th. International Print & Drawing Biennial in 2007 at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, curated by David Kiehl, Whitney Museum of Art, New York, The PERMM Museum of Contemporary Art show "Anonymous" in 2013, curated by Marat Guelman and the recent Boca Raton Museum of Art "All Florida" exhibtion in 2013 curated by Mark Scala, Chief Curator at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, in Nashville, Tennessee. Jansen's work has been published and noted in Art News, Art in America, Art Pulse and The New York Times.

Jansen attended the Berufskolleg fur Technik und Medien in Moenchengladbach Germany in 1985 and is billingual. His Awards include the New American Paintings Alumni selection in 2011, the Aesthetica Art Prize 2012, UK and the Arte Laguna Art Prize 2013, Italy. His works are exhibited at International Fairs during Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Chicago, Art Dubai and the LA Art show.

Upcoming exhibitions include "Under the Influence" at Phillips de Pury Geneva Switzerland and Moscow Russia followed by The Art Album Book Project with artists like, Shepard Fairey, Takashi Murakami, Marlene Dumas, Kehinde Whiley, Jonathan Meese, Daniel Richter, Chuck Close and more.
