Jean Macpherson is a successful event producer and cultural manger, proficient in the production and of artistic programs, training workshops, cultural festivals and other arts related events. Currently, Jean is the program coordinator for the Banff New Media Institute, developing innovative programming initiatives, establishing course content and program design. Prior to her work at The Banff Centre, Jean worked with the National Arts Centre, the Ottawa Folklore Centre, and Muse Entertainment. Her extensive background includes marketing, arts administration, performance and film production.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Jean’s academic background includes a baccalaureate in communications from Carleton University and a diploma in music and culture from the Gaelic College of Celtic Arts and Crafts. Jean has travelled extensively in Europe and Canada and has a passion for playing hellbilly, rock & blues violin.
