ANNIKA LARSSON was born 1972 in Stockholm, Sweden. She attendended The Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm between 1995 - 2000, from where she received a MFA in 2000. Between 2000-2002 she was living and working in Berlin and since 2003 she has been mainly based in New York, where she currantly lives and works. Larsson has since 1999 been exhibited in various museums and galleries worldwide, with solo exhibitions at Andrea Rosen Gallery, New York (2002 and 2004), Museum fur Gegenwartskunst, Basel (2003), Sala Montcada-Fundacion la caixa, Barcelona (2005), Kunsthalle Nurnberg, Nurnberg (2004), Massimo de Carlo, Milan (2005), ICA- Istitute of Contemporay Art, London, England (2002) and Dunkers Kulturhus, Helsingborg (2007). She has also participated in art biennials such as 49th Venice Biennial (2001), 8th Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul (2004) Turkey and 6th Shanghai Biennial, Shanghai (2006). In 2001 she recieved the Baloise Art Prize and in 2002 the Beckers Art Prize. Her most notable works are her video works Dog (2001), POLIISI (2002), Pink Ball (2003), New Gravity (2003), Hockey (2004) and FIRE (2005). Since 1999 she has been collaborating with artist and musician Tobias Bernstrup for the music in her works. She has also done collaborations with New York based musican Sean McBride.
