      Julie has received her Bachelor’s of Visual Arts in Drawing and Painting from Florida International University in 1990. She is the 2013 Portrait Society of Americas Conference Scholarship. She is the 2013 and 2011 Ruth Katzman Scholarship recipient for the Artist-in-Residency (A-I-R) Program at The Vytlacil Campus of The Art Students League of New York. Julie has exhibited her work in 2009 Within Four Corners, Solo Exhibition, Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, Melbourne, Florida. 2008 First Place, 100% Pure Exhibition, Fifth Avenue Gallery, Mark Mittleman. The Richeson 75 International Figure/Portrait Juried Exhibition, Juror Michael Shane Neal, Kimberly, Wisconsin.           Julie is a narrative figurative artist. Her works range from sole to multi figural views of the humanity. Her works are delicate and sensitive with an aggression of stroke. Currently, she is working on two series, one thematically representing scenes from a recent trip to New York entitled Subway series and the other series of portraits . The subway scenes are multi figural lessons of lighting and romantic scenes are painted with a sensuous aggression depicting a joyous lyrical journey with charm of humanity. The portraits are done in silver point on gessoed masonite. These portraits depict scenes emotions of knowledge, awaking , giving, solitude and entanglement .
