"When was the last time you said I love you?" is an exploration of the love stories of strangers, told through the voices of older people. Scripted from over 200 anonymous responses to an online questionairre about love.

"I've always been interested in hearing people's stories. A lot of my previous art work has involved working with the general public, finding out about what makes them tick and how they feel about their lives. Over the past three years I have researched people's love stories and experiences, receiving daily responses to the on-line questionnaire I set up, and was intrigued by the fact that people would so readily tell their stories to a stranger."

"When was the last time you said I love you?" is an exploration of the love stories of strangers, told through the voices of older people. Scripted from over 200 anonymous responses to an online questionairre about love.

"I've always been interested in hearing people's stories. A lot of my previous art work has involved working with the general public, finding out about what makes them tick and how they feel about their lives. Over the past three years I have researched people's love stories and experiences, receiving daily responses to the on-line questionnaire I set up, and was intrigued by the fact that people would so readily tell their stories to a stranger."

This project examines how we talk about love, fixing on the words we use to talk about this most intimate of emotions and refracting them through an artificially staged sequence of performances to create a series of ever-shifting narrative canvases.

Constructed from hundreds of responses to an online questionnaire about love, the scripts for the films were performed by a group of older actors from an amateur rep company, each actor performing in isolation in a blacked-out studio and directed to address the camera. Through the subsequent edit, these performances have been moulded to form a series of dialogues, staged conversations
