The human body is a container for numerous incarnations of multiplicity and fragmentation. These versions of the self can be identified through the presence of fluctuating persona. Embedded within our essence is a capacity to construct, develop and reinforce identities of multiple persuasions. Tony Jones; or, The Expanded Autobiography examines the phenomena of the fluctuating persona.

Thematically, it depicts the work of an artist who has commissioned a persona to develop conceptual works of art. As a transmedia narrative, it communicates through multiple channels of interdisciplinary media. Through this prism of form and content, the work attempts to function within an expanded field. Rather than establishing an absolute reality, or unreality, the work acknowledges the ubiquity of both constructs. As an expanded autobiography, the work blurs the acceptance of supposed truth and imagined fiction. Ultimately, Tony Jones; or, The Expanded Autobiography invites the viewer to linger within a space of perpetual becoming and unbecoming.

Tony Jones is real. I am Tony Jones. Tony Jones is unreal. I am not Tony Jones.
