Combining analogue technology with digitally prepared slides, S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M. is an expanded cinema installation exploring optical phenomena, color, perception and duration. A slide filled with a solid color is projected out of focus. A dissolve unit advances the slides, and the color projected on the wall gradually cycles through the spectrum of visible light. The complete cycle lasts approximately 15-20 minutes before seamlessly beginning again.
