#me (2014)

motorized wooden toys as actors and social media content identity creation through comment functions

Full Description

me: An enactment

Animal-like robots, built from wooden toys, recite comments from social network platforms, hinting at the role of the comment-function on Twitter, Facebook, Google & Co. in identity construction. Only comments tagged with #me have been used. #me is a taphole in social media.

»In the night there was a big giraffe in the room and a crumpled one: and the big one called out because I took the crumpled one away from it. Then it stopped calling out: and I sat down on top of the crumpled one« Sigmund Freud: Analyse der Phobie eines fünfjährigen Knaben – Kapitel 2
