Artist Statement
My current drawing practice explores tenets of Supermodernism, specifically ideas of "non-place." My source material comes from drawings of theoretical architecture: 3D chatroom spaces, video game environments, and physical "non-places" such as airports and train stations. By detaching the drawing from a fixed space, I investigate its transitory qualities, and focus on process, mutability, and evolution. Rather than looking at "non-places" as devoid of content or meaning, I regard them as places of infinite possibility.
