Rhizome | Tales From the City (1 minute)

'Tales from the City (1 minute)' uses 3D models textured with the artist's own photographic snapshots captured whilst walking through the urban environment. Also, appropriated visuals borrowed from on-line mapping applications such as Street View. This experimental work takes the form of 3D collage in rapid motion, using SketchUp free software to generate highly saturated, complex surfaces and forms. The camera 'flies' the viewer through contrasting aerial, ground-level and subterranean-type spaces. There is no conventional narrative as such, more a series of short scenes stitched together to create a fragmentary mind-map: The chaotic multi-sensory contemporary city, reworked through memory and experienced via on-line spaces.
