Joao Vilhena, 12.2013 How do you get into a detail ? Is macro-photography enlarged to a viewer scale (1.5mt x 1.5mt) a landscape ? With that in mind I animated the action into an egg.

Artist Statement
(as talked with another artist -Brigitte Dunkel)
In my research for eggs in literature there is not much around it and most are either symbolic readings (that I am avoiding) or food interpretations. Neither really interest me as the eggs came simply as a result of exploration of the focal point of my camera, (at first with macro egg using a malfunction in an old cam ) and subsequently as doing a focus and shot with the cell phone.. .The round form with cracks are very hard to focus as they don't have one focal point but several.. .The more cracks I get the more focal points I get. The less light the less detail to see and again focus.. .On top of it I eat about 6-12 eggs (the white part only ) a day for the protein lol. . .so there are always eggs around me.
I find eggs as a symbol of a evolving form. More as a result of an action implicit with their break - being the newborn coming out ot just the use of the egg to cook.
