Full Description

“When the direction of the wind changes, some build walls, some make windmills.” [Chinese Proverb]

…And some take the option to fight against the winds of change and just carry on going. Occasionally realising their exercise in futility when the winds of change are just too strong and they are eventually blown into an opposite direction. However, sometimes the directional wind needs to change and the constant battle of going in the same direction is a fools’ errand. The uphill struggle in achieving gender equality on a global level is something that women are still fighting for. It’s been said that women work two thirds of the worlds working hours, produce half of the world’s food but only earn 10% of the worlds income. In 1995, Hilary Clinton gave a speech at a UN conference in Beijing “Women’s rights are human rights… Every woman deserves the chance to realize her own God-given potential. But we must recognize that women will never gain full dignity until their human rights are respected and protected.” Well let’s concur and change the direction of things, switch it up and switch it “On” and that way we can switch “Off” feminist rants…
