This image is from a series called "Today we live in a hybrid reality where the space between the physical and the virtual is fluid". The series is inspired by this quote:
"Today we live in a hybrid reality where the space between the physical and the virtual is fluid. Gone is the radical internet of the 90’s where logging off was an option. The method of creating these pictures reflect the statement of the quote: They all originate with a photograph of the physical reality. The photograph is loaded into a computer and is enhanced digitally. Then the image is printed out, (thereby re-entering the physical), and the process is continued by making a hand-drawed study of the same object onto the picture (to make the human perception of reality add to the digital perception of the same thing). Then the picture is scanned into the computer and enhanced again. This movement, from physical reality to digital, and from human perception to virtual perception, is repeated until the picture is distorted and contains a combination of the two.
