A video painting series exploring the notions of landscape and memory. The landscapes captured all hold rich historical stories hidden behind the seamingly peaceful and benign scenes.

Artist Statement
Mortimer takes us to lakes, forests and abandoned railway stations linked intrinsically with the holocaust. In Britain we are taken to landscapes romanticised in history, from Cornish shiprecks to ancient chapels and in America she visits the scene of the batlle of Little Big Horn amongst others.
The series consists of over 3 hours and 36 scenes and features experimental technology from Open Gallery when exhibited which bypasses the need to loop video art.
