Artist Statement
This video performance is my attempt to chase a coherent self portrait into existence through an unfixed time based video signal. I obviously struggle at times to even locate myself on the monitor. Time itself nullifies the process by simply washing away whatever progress was made seconds beforehand. I ultimately fail to create a recognizable portrait of myself because of the constant degradation of the video signal feedback. The decay is fluid and beautiful in its persistence even if I am not.
