Images of painted seascapes by J M William Turner were taken with a digital camera from a computer monitor. Both the image sensor of the camera and the computer monitor are made up of a relationship of grids. When photographed in a certain angle, these grids overlap and create moiré patterns. Captured within this trapezoidal frame the artificial information is a digital phenomenon that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Together with Turners romantic seascape images and the new digital information the photographs create a new visual spectacle where the appropriation is directly linked to the source.
