Artist Statement
In The Profile Engine, Gabriel Bohm Calles, Andreas Knag-Danielsen and Arngrímur Borgþórsson embrace the “filter bubble” in order to explore the relationship between their online personalities and the ripples their actions online leave as they explore the online world. How the internet itself looks at them is reflected in how it tries to penetrate their spheres of interests with customized advertising, search suggestions and personalized search results. Their actions, interests and passing thoughts are echoed in the answers they receive after posing their questions to the internet.
