Artist Statement
"Rising" was created for the art program at Denver International Airport (DIA). This site-specific installation designed to look like an extension of the actual architectural space in which it is placed. This trompe-l’oeil video projection creates the illusion of space in perspective and takes the viewer down a meandering corridor that leads outside into a grassland landscape. The viewer contemplates the land and is eventually transported over it, into the sky.
