Artist Statement

Traditionally, a "color space" refers to a graphic representation of all the possible colors that can be captured or reproduced by a specific camera, monitor, or printer. When a computer understands the color space of these different devices, it can help calibrate and synchronize color reproduction across them. Normally, meaningless colors (without context, content, or purpose) are used to create such calibration systems. In this series of experiments, generic colors are of no interest. I am only interested in understanding the specificity of domestic color space so that I can create a new breed of color calibration tools and systems that will allow pictures to better represent the familiarity of the day-to-day.
