Artist Statement
A site video projection proposal for LUMEN 2012 at Staten Island’s waterfront New York. The video shows a kalediscopic image of molten salt drifting across a futuristic illuminated skyline. Liquid salt store the sun’s heat from the day, to power the city at night. The video was made to be projected at the Atlantic Salt Company’s industrial waterfront, where large quantities of salt are stored, for the removal of ice from the roads in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
