Full Description

the pixels have 10 basic ways of behavior and types of narration. they are changing every 10 minutes. a heart of the internal structure of the work are follow numbers: "0", "1", "10" . a work constitutes, creates itself through: the 10 modes of behavior what randomly are changing every 10 minutes, and 100 sounds whose duration is variable from 0.1 to 1 second, which are also randomly changing every 10 minutes.

the idea of a work is to create a specific electric tissue, a condition when audiovisual elements - "empty" / "open" pixels that generate audio signals when "communicating" to each other, and to create a specific context of multiple electronic signals that increase in number, also depending on the number of viewers that visit the space in front of a screen [their movement in space in front becomes a movement of a new "pixel " in the space of the screen ]. when a visitor comes into the area where interactivity is - the new empty "pixels" are appear, a viewer can also "communicate " with the screen space via translating him/herself into a screen space through the reflection of its own motion in front of the screen as a new state movement on the screen through the incarnation of a new " pixel" inside the screen. "empty" square is also a metaphor of an each individual pixel and the general pixel screen.

"empty " pixels are a metaphor for " screen" of an atom, dna, microorganism, society, a methafor for the organization of a structure of life and the universe. work "pythagoras" is wellsame aimed at creating a specific condition, experience [in / through ] the immersion into the extended or blurred reality.

work partly developed during a residence at WRO Art Center [ Wroclaw, Poland] in 2010 .

Artist Statement

a work explores the relationship that [may] appear between / in pixels, numbers, data and sound, between the basic element and the whole system , its structures , algorithms and randomity. every second generated empty box with a given random behavior in general creates a constantly changing optical illusion, variability and movement of which is generating a sound environment. a screen space appears as completely empty, non-filled and gradually is filling in by the end of the cycle. empty squares - a metaphor of a pixel that is both a metaphor for the potential emptiness, it is existantial vacuum that must be fulfilled, and can be considered as an outline that could appear after overlaying of K.Malevich’s “black” and “white” suprematic rectangles. we can compare a pixel with the number as a basic element of the Pythagorean universe of numbers, which in turn, is potentially abstract , but can get a possibility of signification. a work "pythagoras" is a study of a space / in space of meta data, their structures, forms and randomity.
