Artist Statement
Concrete Landscape Series is a body of sculptural casts displayed in acrylic frames. The series references the formal qualities of circuit boards as objects and presents them as ambiguous miniature landscapes. The use of concrete as a material represents technological advances in construction fading into stagnant relics, and the works are presented in a clear acrylic case charting the cycle from computer to artefact. This series reflects the material residue of technological progress and not only explores the ideology of progress under the conditions of late capitalism, but also questions the materiality of everyday technology itself.
