The Unseen Painting (2011)

As part of my show in the Natimuk Goat Gallery in 2007, L’ombre et Lumieres (Shadows and Light) I created The Unseen Painting, a work that I did blindfold, and then locked and sealed in a box. This act was witnessed by two other painters who could not see the painting.

The painting in the box has never been seen by human eyes. (There's a possibility my cat glanced at it)

I have long been inspired by the works of Marcel Duchamp, Piero Manzoni and others who have questioned the value of art. Can you say it's art if you cannot see it?

It is artistic analogy of the Schrödinger’s Cat thought experiment. It could be a terrible painting, but you will have to buy it (10 grand) to find out. Of course, it only remains valuable as long as it is unseen.
