Forth (2011)

Forth is an interactive public art installation, at the University of Central Florida, shown on a large curved projection screen, a display on the opposite wall and a soundscape extending throughout the lobby. Forth is a dynamically changing ocean scene, which is subject to the local weather conditions: the wave height and the atmospheric conditions reflect the weather sampled in Orlando and at the Florida coast. Small row boats advance across the open water trying to stay afloat and on course. A second screen in the lobby displays an underwater view of the scene, and immersive sound responds to the weather, and to the flow of visitors through the lobby. The viewers in the lobby are tracked by a camera and are represented in the projection as paper boats floating on the ocean, which can be picked up by the rowers.
