These images were created in environments where crowds of people gather to experience a series of enjoyable moments, such as amusement parks, carnivals, and fairs. By digitally removing the background elements from the original photographs, I visually isolate individuals in transition between these moments. Although they gaze towards a prize to win, thrill to experience, or concession stand to visit, these adults, teenagers, and children are stripped of their spectacular surroundings and become solitary subjects to contemplate.
