Full Description

The aim of the installation is to call attention to the fact that it is quite impossible for a disabled person to move in most public domains. They have to struggle with an army of stairs everywhere, with respect to those who have a chance to try it at all. Some stairs are equipped with lifts, but the ’out of service’ board is often hanging on them. And transport is another matter. Last time I traveled by bus, and a wheel-chaired person was waiting in the bus stop. For me it was so obvious, that he would get on the bus quickly when we stopped and so we could just go on. But this did not happen. And suddenly it came into my mind: maybe he couldn’t get on this bus any way. Maybe he had to wait for hours for a vehicle which was suitable for him. We even loose our minds if somebody doesn’t move for 3 seconds before us, thinking „oh my goodness, we won’t be able to get out of the bus!”
