Real time tree monitoring. One of my 1940s aural experiences was when I compressed my ear against the heavy maple tree bark and hearing the sound of muffled blood throbbing. This was akin to my ear against a telephone pole. Not limbs, but four cut wood horizontal arms and a staggered row of upright and conical wooden supports, and these straddled an upper lip on the transparent green glass insulators. Securing these Telegraph wires headed in both directions, a Western Union wire knot was used to attach these lengths of copper-coated steel wires against each glass. Listening results varies and produced multiple, distinct, related and unique vibrations. The downed, shaved and treated tree was deeply sounding, resonating with a sharper wind-vibrated metallic sound.
