WOW (Intended for a White Wall) (2011)

Inspired by Suprematist painting "White on White" by Kazimir Malevich. A widescreen projection of animated and colour-corrected jpeg intended for a white wall. 7:20.

Full Description

A white projection intended for a white wall, as inspired by Kazimir Malevich’s White on White painting. A white square stretches from 4:3 aspect ratio to 720x480 and then 16:9. The projection is likened to painting instead of a spatial installation, yet plays with optical perception of space by introducing linear and beveled outlines of shapes. The projected background image is of a found document image of Malevich’s white on white, color corrected to its brightest. A beveled outline of a white square moves across the background. Found sound from YouTube video called “Endorphin Releaser”
