While the full DoD seal is protected from misuse by law, the parts are open and available to the public. I use this loophole to create a set of images extracted from Department of Defense and Air Force Insignias that refers to the visual language of power inherent in military iconography. Easy to implement in the form of a font, the set is reinserted into the public domain, thus returning it to the population it was intended to serve.
