Self Science Research Institute (2011)

by 1005813

Created as a response to the popularity of online psychology tests and the use of electronic devices in cognitive research, SSRI markets reality-mediating devices aimed at helping the user fit into society. These devices, which are wildly conspicuous, are actually more effective at distorting one's reality by reminding the user of his/her presence. The website serves to present the devices in a way that mimics the experience of wearing them, and to collect stories and recollections from the user through its personality questionnaires, which then become the "findings" of the institute's research. This project investigates the roles of authority and quantitative research in the quest for self-knowledge.
