Full Description
The works of Boris Kopeinig deal with intensities and after-images that are produced through the rhythmification of perception; techno and electronic music serving as essential aesthetic and biographical points of reference. Kopeinig examines the current state of communication networks, the accelerated conversion of emancipatory, autonomous zones into totalitarian (self-)control machineries. In his audiovisual performance as part of the donaufestival, the Vienna-based media artist will create rhythmic word sequences using samples from texts by Burroughs: The thus resulting dis(associative) stream of text made from real-time cut-ups opens up rhizomatic spaces inviting visitors to get involved.
