The Mobile Thrill installation offers exciting adventures to be experienced indirectly through your mobile phone. The effects of this habit is that for many people seeing something on their own mobile phone screen makes it a very intense, involved and personal experience, even though the screen is crap and impossibly small.

The Mobile Thrill installation offers exciting adventures to be experienced indirectly through your mobile phone. This seems outsourced fun, but it's not that different from what people are doing all day: whenever a highlight in their day-to-day life occurs, they experience it through small mobile phone displays, while recording it.

The effects of this habit is that for many people seeing something on their own mobile phone screen makes it a very intense, involved and personal experience, even though the screen is crap and impossibly small.

The Mobile Thrill installation can be equipped with a set of video's, being played in carousel order. Besides the fact that the video-result the phone will bring back to its owner is therefore unknown, the temporary physical distance between owner and device attributes to the tension and excitement as well. People don't feel comfortable losing sight of their good cared for device, as with one's own children.

Nowadays, phones are no longer just a simple tool for a simple single purpose. They've become our channel to a network of friends, to our own personal life. The trend of people having a very intimate relationship with their phone is obvious. Extending the practice of handling the device in a very personal way a bit further, to allow your phone to experience something on its own, something you're not even experiencing yourself, is a new step in the rising status of mobile phones.

This installation is therefore having people as an indirect audience, but not in the last place mobile phones themselves.
