It was originally installed and screened in a small detention cell. The cinema/cell was recreated by using documentay images taken by US soldiers of detention and torture spaces in Iraq. Images can be seen here: flickr.com/photos/reel_aesthete/sets/72157615928880339/

This piece explores US detention sites and the War on Terror using documentary materials and is part of a series of experimental documentary video projects. Through collecting visual and verbal documents linked by physical location and digital materiality (metadata, geotags), it explores the space between perspectives. Above all it asks one question: Whose perspective are we seeing?

In the title, the numbers indicate the years the materials span while the lower case "i" (e.g., ipod, iphone) gives a nod to the sharing, web 2.0 technologies that have allowed these contentious materials about prison to be freely circulated.

It is the third of three videos in the series.
