Botty Shelly (2010)

"Botty Shelly" is a limited-edition sculpture series. Modern-day Cyber-Venuses are projected onto my own implementation in Mathematica of the George Francis/ Donna Cox/Ray Idaszak "Etruscan Venus" as Marcel Duchamp's "Female Figleaf". My "Etruscan Venus" is being reborn in Botticelli's scallop shell which I also created using Mathematica. I simulate projection from Euclidean Four-Space into the three real dimensions of the gallery installation via a computer-assisted, interactive X-Ray imaging simulation. This sculpture depicts Woman as a four-dimensional, spiritual, intelligent, metaphysical, transformative vessel.
