Mpart1 is an exploration of the digital remixing of sounds, imagery and icons that are popularly associated with nationality and manhood. When I originally constructed this piece I envisioned it eternally looping; however, it now incorporates a sound interface that promotes viewer interaction, and conceptually this works well (as opposed to a constant streaming video). The piece is constructed using Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Sonicfoundry SoundForge and appropriated imagery from the Google search engine string, ‘nationality’.
