Full Description
This work is a hybrid mix of urban soundscapes. The ecology is unbalanced made from a uneven looping mix of phone messages, street sounds and guitar riffs. The multiple cycles are layered over a chant from a Watusi tribal ceremony. As the sound ecology devolves we are asked to absorb many channels and voices, picking out the signifier and signified from the ever louder white noise of the current soundscape. Important messages from friends can be picked out, and their meaning reestablishes equilibrium in the soundscape.
